Getting Started
How do I join the server?
Add "play.hobbnetwork.net" to your Minecraft server list. We support Java Edition 1.20+.
Is the server in beta?
Yes! We're in early development with a small team building the foundation. Expect bugs and incomplete features.
What version of Minecraft do you support?
We support Java Edition 1.20 and newer. Bedrock Edition is not currently supported.
Are there any mods required?
No mods required! We're 100% vanilla with custom plugins. Optifine and minimaps are allowed.
Gameplay
How do I get started in the city?
Join Discord and ask staff for a tour! We'll help you find housing and get your first job.
Can I build my own house?
Not yet - we're still building the main city. Eventually you'll be able to purchase and customize properties.
How does the job system work?
Still in development! The basic framework is there but most features aren't implemented yet.
What can I do right now on the server?
Explore the half-built city, chat with the small community, and help test basic features. It's very early!
Account & Purchases
Do I need a special account?
Nope! Just join with your regular Minecraft account. Optional Discord linking for extra features.
What do donator ranks get me?
Primarily supporting the server! Ranks include some perks but most are placeholders for now.
Can I get a refund?
All purchases are donations to support development. Refunds only in special circumstances - see Terms of Service.
Will my rank be permanent?
Yes! All purchased ranks are lifetime and won't expire.
Technical Issues
I can't connect to the server
Make sure you're using Java Edition 1.20+. Double-check the address: "play.hobbnetwork.net". If still stuck, ask on Discord.
I'm experiencing lag
We're a small server still optimizing. Report lag in Discord with your location and what you were doing.
I found a bug!
Great! Report it on Discord with screenshots and steps to reproduce. We're in early development so bugs are expected.
Can I use mods?
Quality-of-life mods (Optifine, minimaps, inventory sorters) are fine. No hacked clients, X-ray, or cheat mods.
Community
Is there a Discord server?
Yes! Join at dc.hobbnetwork.net - it's the best place to get support and connect with the community.
Can I apply for staff?
Yes! Visit the Apply page. We're especially looking for builders, developers, and patient helpers.
How can I help the server?
Join Discord, be active, report bugs, give feedback, and help new players. Or apply to join the build/dev team!
What's the server culture like?
Small, friendly, and patient. We're building this together. Mature players who can handle early-development bugs fit best.
